FUR TRADE HISTORY IN EARLY MICHIGAN –
Come to Little River School, School Section Lake Veterans’ Memorial Park (90th Ave. and 9 Mile Rd.) Saturday, August 13, to learn about the early fur trade in Michigan. Walter Ewing, Saginaw Voyageurs sponsored by Castle Museum Saginaw, will present a first-person character reenactment and music program featuring Michigan’s early fur trade. There will be lots of music, stories, hands-on activities with artifacts, and dancing for all ages. The school will be open at 1:00 p.m. for visitors to get an up-close look at a one-room school that is over 100 years old and to view a video of the early history of School Section Lake and the Little River School. The Living History presentation will begin at 2:00 p.m. Program sponsored by Culture Alive!
