The Remus Area Historical Society, Inc., an educational and charitable organization, was formed to celebrate the heritage and preserve the cultural and historical resources of the eastern townships of Mecosta County and the western edge of Isabella County. The all-volunteer group is organized as a nonprofit corporation; donations are tax deductible as allowed by law. The Museum serves area residents, tourists and former residents. Last year we completed the School Section Lake Veterans Park Stone Pavilion restoration fundraising project and the Mecosta County Quilt Block Trailwith 69 blocks countywide, held monthly Genealogy Series, the highly successful Cemetery Tours and the recent Mecosta Lumbering event. We are now working on a new Agricultural display, a new Bundy Hill Historical Trail project, Genealogy Series continues, and, a new DVD with film and photos including area elders interviewed by the late Don Hatfield. As ever we are continually improving our historical collection and making them available to you at the Remus Museum open from May – October! We so appreciate all the support you’ve given us over the years.
