ANTIQUE QUILT DISPLAY:
During
Heritage Days weekend, Remus Area Historical Society (RAHS) will host an
Antique Quilt Display on the ground floor of the Museum (located at 324
FANCY STITCHING DEMONSTRATION:
Area resident
Faye Zapfe will demonstrate fancy
quilt stitching like those found on Crazy Quilts during the Quilt Show at
the Museum on
Saturday, July
19th from 10 a.m. to Noon.
There is no fee to
attend though donations are welcome.

QUILT RAFFLE:

Get your tickets now! You may
purchase
tickets at Remus Pharmacy until July 5th, IBT
(Isabella Bank) the next week until July 12th and
Firstbank the following week until July 18th.
Tickets will also be available during Heritage Days weekend
at the museum, or, find Sherry who will be wearing a poster of the quilt and
selling tickets as she strolls through the crowd.
The cost of the
tickets are six
for $5 or $1 each.
You need not be present to win! The
raffle winner will be
drawn on July
19th at 3:30 p.m. at the Museum
during Heritage Days. The
raffle is licensed by the State of
MUSEUM HOURS:
The Museum is
open to residents and visitors
every
Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
During Heritage Days weekend, the Museum will be
open
Friday, July 18th & Saturday, July 19th from 10
a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday, July 20th from
RAHS is also looking for persons that may be interested in hosting the
museum during future Saturday hours. Please contact Char at
TRIBUTE TO THE TASKERS:
A Special Senior
Citizen Program honoring Larry and Cheryl Tasker
sponsored by Remus Heritage Days and Eagle Realty will be held this year at
the Museum,
DISPLAYS:
The Museum hopes to build displays on certain topics such as old area
schools (see Annual Meeting notice below), communications, electrification,
Centennial Farms, and other subjects.
Search your basements, attics, and barns for
items such as an old Telegraph, an old Phone Switchboard, a Crank Phone, old
Phone Books, early cords/lines, School bells, Insulators, Early Maps of
Phone and Electric Lines, old Lamps or Bulbs, Photos, clippings and maps of
Centennial Farms/awards, School memorabilia, one room school photos and maps
from days gone by, early football uniforms, gym clothes, desk, etc.
If you have knowledge about any of these subjects, RAHS would love to
have your help and contributions!

Would you be

RAHS has been in touch with a number of possible presenters.
One specializes in Irish family history in the area.
Others have other areas of interest.
